8192cu had problematic driver version(s) and may need customized version of hostapd if it does not support cfg80211: have not checked eventual regression lastly, but Foundation release supplied kernel driver should be fine since 4.4.13. While that doesn’t mean a smooth Doom (2016) experience on the single-board wonder, it. So setting them both to zero disables power saving and auto suspend. and the dongle works surprisingly well: strong signal, no dropouts, in short - much better than I expected. Yes, most probably a driver/hostapd combination issue than kernel. The Raspberry Pi 4 has hit a major graphics milestone, adding support for a more modern Vulkan 3D API. However in the Supported Device Table, we found the 'Realtek 8192 USB Wireless WIFI'. Just yesterday I tried a RasPi B+ and a hifiberry DAC+, and the latest RuneOS (nightly build), and it recognised my ebay wifi dongle with RTL8188ETV chipset immediately: A quick question here: We are trying some different WiFi Dongles on our Raspberry Pi, and we find out that Realtek 8192CU is not working on Raspberry Pi. Anything else with this wifi dongle is an exercise in futilityīut, with other DACs, which do not need special kernels (like the Wolfson), I've managed quite nicely. So, basically, no music streaming using wifi, only local music sources (USB disk), and the wifi network can only be used for control.

RASPBERRY PI 8192CU DRIVER DRIVERS
My Debian 8 laptop using 8192cu drivers intermittently fails to return any results when scanning for WiFi networks. Ive written up a step-by-step guide to what I did. I resolved the issue by switching to the ath10k drivers, which have now published drivers for my card. Works OK once I managed to turn off the sleep mode, but it's extremely slow with very weak signal. 8192cu driver: scan sometimes returns no results. So, I should have been more precise, as in "which wifi dongle works with the wolfson kernel for RuneOS?" - with the actual model and chipset.Ĭurrently I'm stuck with a rather weak "Arctic" nano wifi dongle with Ralink RT5370. I can't really complie my own drivers, and can't find any ready-made for my kernel. I'm asking because I'm stuck with a couple of RasPi models B with WOlfson audio cards - so I'm forced to use a wifi dongle that's recognised by the wolfson kernel in use. The trouble is, you never know which chipset the dongle is based on until you actually plug it in I know about both TP-Link and Edimax, and have tried numerous models of both makers.
